Sign in to YouTube on a computer.
Under your profile picture in the top right, select Your channel.
Click Customise channel.
Use the drop-down menu next to your name to view your channel as Yourself, a New visitor or a Returning subscriber.
Use the tabs to preview your channel:
Home: This tab is what your audience sees when they visit your channel. They can view a feed of your activities or preview different sections of your customised layout.
Videos: Use this tab to see a list of all uploads publicly available for subscribers or all of the videos that you've publicly liked. You can sort by most popular or date added.
Playlists: This tab is a list of all of the playlists that you've created.
Channels: Feature other owned channels or creators.
Discussion: If you've turned on the discussion tab, it will display comments left on your channel.
About: Use this tab to add a channel description (maximum length of 1,000 characters). You can also add your channel country/region, business contact information, and social media or other web links.
Links that you add here are featured just below your description and use the icon from the corresponding social media network when displayed.
You can overlay up to five of these links on your channel art as shortcut icons.
To edit your About tab, hover over the content, then click Edit .
When designing your YouTube channel, The Consult Centre recommends mirroring your company's existing online look, including the color schemes and logos on your website. You can choose a background color for your channel and then upload your background image.
Add or change channel art
On a computer, sign in to YouTube.
In the top-right menu, select My Channel. New channel art: Near the top of thescreen, click Add channel art. ...
Upload an image or photo from your computer or saved photos. ...
You'll see a preview of how the art will appear across different devices. ...
Click Select.
Edit and update channel icon
You can choose to upload a new image, use a still frame from one of your uploaded videos or use your default image.
Note: You can no longer edit your channel icon or channel art on mobile devices. Use a computer to follow the instructions below.
Sign in to YouTube.
Under your profile in the top right-hand corner, select Your Channel.
Select Customise Channel.
Hover over your existing channel icon in the top left-hand corner of your channel art banner.
Click Edit .
Click Edit and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can customise the layout of your channel so that viewers see what you want them to when they get to your page. If you don't customise the layout, all visitors will see your channel feed.
This is recommended for creators who upload videos regularly. You can add a channel trailer, suggest content for your subscribers and organise all of your videos and playlists into sections.
See customisation options
Follow these steps to begin customising the layout of your channel.
On a computer, sign in to YouTube.
Select your profile picture Your Channel.
Select Customise channel.
You can organise and promote content that you want to highlight on your channel using channel sections. A section lets you group videos together in a particular way so that your audience can make easier decisions about what they want to watch. You can have up to 10 sections on one channel.
Manage sections on your channel
Create a section
Before you start: To set up channel sections, you have to first turn on channel customisation for the channel.
Go to the channel that you want to manage.
Click Customise channel.
At the bottom, click Add a section.
Under 'Content', use the drop-down menu to select the type of content that you want to appear in your section.
Videos: Choose to highlight popular or recent uploads, liked videos and more.
Playlists: Choose to add a dedicated section from your playlists.
Under 'Layout', use the drop-down menu to select a horizontal row or a vertical list layout.
Click Done.
